    PM: a x window system

PM: does anyone know what it takes to add a keyboard definition and
PM: the corresponding locales support to debian? we would need to
PM: include a couple of czech keyboard layouts (qwertz, qwerty, and
    PM: programmers') to debian 2.0.

PM: p.s. we would like to localize ldlinux.sys as well as the
PM: installation program - what is the procedure for doing that?

Protože ještě stále nedorazil těch pět mailů, co jsem sem forwardoval
asi před týdnem, přikládám relevantní úryvek:

Not yet. First we have to finish the non-internationalized version, as we
are already out of schedule for Debian 2.0. Then internationalizing it
  will be very easy.

There's a little problem I've been thinking about, but don't have an easy
solution yet. The root disk is already stuffed almost to capacity, so we
won't be able to put a few message catalogs for the different languages
  we will support.

One solution is building a root floppy for each language, but that would
be a waste of space in the CDs and mirror sites.

A better solution is making the installation system read the messages file
from the boot medium, be it the rescue floppy, CD, ...
As the rescue floppy uses a MS-DOS filesystem it will be easy for the users
to copy a different "messages" file over the default one. Also, the
"messages" files for the different languages can be put in the boot/
directory of the CDs without wasting too much space. The problem is
defining a friendly interface for choosing the language at boot time.

Well, comments and better ideas are always appreciated! :-)
