Hi folks, I'm a newbye in the use of Linux systems..I just installed Debian
3.0 but I can't figure out how to configure the Xserver! I installed Gnome2
but the X Gui is unable to start because the system says "Screen(s) found
but without a usable configuration" (or something like that). I tried
configuring manually the parameters of my monitor (a Philips 107p) but the
only resolution available is a 1920x1440 (absolutely microscopic!).
Strangely with this resolution the X86 configuration tool (xf86cfg, I guess)
starts. The video card (GeForce2 Mx is correctly recognized!). Can anyone
help me (even telling me what to change in configuration files)? (dont'
fool me out for my ignorance!)
ps: why Debian doesn't include tools like YaST2? :-(
