Hi.
Some months ago I buyed a new hd, so I decided to instal a Debian I fount
in
a magazine.
After it I realized I didn't need it so much and so decided to completely
NTFS format (I have windows200prof) my new disk.
Frmo that moment every time I used to turn on my PC I had the switch
screenshoot where I had to decide with wich os to start (obviously
selecting
W2000 because Debian was on the formatted disk).
Yesterday I wanted to install "Command and Conquer Generals" a strategy
game
(OT:In those days I think is good to explain that playng war makes me
conscious of what bad thing it is, I'm not a war lover) that requires
DirectX 8.1.
After installation of DX Reboot:
after verifying DMI pool data...........:
L 09 09 09 09 09 09 09 09 09 filling my screen and so on.
What could have been happened?
how can I rescue ?
(I have a Knoppix CD Rom)
Thanks
Beppe
You have created partiton with Linux and in MBR installed LILO or etc.
Then, you
deleted partition and restarted PC. So, how to rescue?
Boot from w2k cdrom, enter rescue mode and log in as administrator. then
type a enter
these following two commands "fixboot" and"fixmbr". after this reboot your
machine
and windows should start normally.
